Alexander Smahtin is a Portfolio Manager and Senior Analyst on the Investment Management team at Global X Canada, joining the firm in 2023. Alex specializes in option-based products, capital markets relationships, and strategic initiatives. Before joining Global X Canada, he worked in ETF strategy at BMO Global Asset Management and began his career in investment operations at TD Asset Management. Alex holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a Finance and Economics Specialist degree from the University of Toronto and is a CFA charterholder.

Brooke Thackray is a Research Analyst with Global X Canada and brings over twenty years of experience in the investment industry. His market strategies have been featured in leading newspapers and magazines, and he has appeared on radio and TV to share his insights on market trends. Brooke is also the President of alphaMountain Investments, a firm that publishes investment reports and books that use seasonal analysis to help investors and money managers gain an edge in the markets.
