🏰 Exploring Dalquharran Castle

Perched high above the River Girvan in South Ayrshire, the newer Dalquharran Castle, built in the 1700s, is a striking reminder of a time when castles were less about defence and more about grandeur and status.

In this episode of Weathered & Wild, we explore the castle on foot, walking through its vast, crumbling rooms and taking in the scale of the place from every angle. Once a grand country mansion, the castle is now open to the elements — with collapsed floors, exposed walls, and nature slowly reclaiming what was once a showpiece home.

As we move through the ruins, we look at architectural details, room layouts, and the incredible setting overlooking the valley below.
