Highland Springs defeated Matthew Fontaine Maury High School 33-19 in the Class 5 Region C State Championship in Norfolk, Virginia on Dec. 10, 2022. Maury would avenge the loss the next season and move on to the win the VHSL Class 5 Championship. Highland Springs is never afraid to challenge the best teams in the state to get them ready for the end of the season playoffs.
