According to the widow's & orphan's Acts 1898, 1983 all public servants should be registered to the widow's & orphan's pension scheme and now it can be done through the internet. W&OP" refers to the Widowers' and Orphans' Pension scheme in Sri Lanka, which provides pensions to surviving spouses and children of deceased public officers. This pension scheme is mandated by law for public servants and is financed by contributions from their basic salaries. The contribution rate was set to increase to 8% from April 2024 to ensure the scheme's sustainability.
