I have a great recipe for you today!
I created this recipe many years ago, I have so many great memories sharing these Cinnamon Rolls with Family and Friends, I wanted to share them with you as well.
This Recipe will make 18 nice sized cinnamon rolls
preheat your oven to 400 degrees and bake approximately 15 minutes but just till slightly brown
for a melt in your mouth soft wonderful roll, its very important not to over cook any bread you are preparing.
Cut the Music up, and Lets get Cooking!!
Ingredients; Roll Dough
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon Yeast
4 1/2 to 5 1/2 cups bread flour (all purpose will work also)
1 cup milk
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoon ground golden flax seed blended with 3/4 cup cold water
** How to prepare the dough **
1 - blend the ground Flax and 3/4 cup cold water in small bowl and sit aside,
2 - in a bowl lg enough to knead the dough in,
blend together 2 cups of the flour, sugar, salt and yeast
3 - in a small pot heat milk and butter just till warm enough that the butter melts
to check the temperature, place tip of your pinky finger in milk- butter mixture and if you can hold for 5 seconds in hot mixture it will be ready to use, do not heat over 130 degrees.
4 - add the flax water mixture into the milk butter mixture
5 - now add the liquid to the flour, sugar, salt and yeast mixture.
6 - blend all together very well, work in enough flour to form a ball and start working the dough as shown in the video - folding and pushing to knead into a dough that when pressed with two fingers it bounces back.
7 - Grease a bowl and place the dough into the greased bowl , cover the dough with butter and place a thin cloth over the top, let rise in a warm area for approximately 1 hour till doubled or more.
8 - once your dough has risen, punch down your dough and gently work briefly, let rest for 5 min while preparing your work area, sprinkle with a little flour depending on the surface of your work area it may take a little more than I used in the video.
9 - gently stretch the dough and roll out into a rectangle around 15 inches by 18 to 20 inches
10 - cover the dough with a layer of softened butter, then cover with cinnamon, and then sprinkle sugar over entire rectangle.
11 - now Roll dough into a log insuring to keep it tight by gently pulling while rolling, pinch the edge to seal the log and lightly flour surface and place dough seam side down.
12 - get you a piece of thread and cut dough log into 1 inch sections, and place on a prepared baking pan leaving space for the rolls to rise,
13 - cover lightly and let rise for about 35 to 45 min
14 - once risen bake in preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes
15 - make icing and have ready for when the Cinnamon Rolls come out of the oven
while rolls are still hot cover each with icing and sprinkle with chopped pecans before icing
crust over to insure pecans will stick.
Make Icing
1 - in a medium bowl blend;
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla Powder
1/4 cup softened butter
1 Tablespoon milk
whisk together very well ,then add in 1 more cup of Powdered sugar till thick and creamy
now coat each cinnamon roll with Icing and if using sprinkle on Pecans!
