ROMA IL COLLOSSEO

Probabilmente il monumento più famoso al mondo e simbolo della grandezza di Roma, l'Anfiteatro Flavio, meglio conosciuto con il nome di Colosseo per la colossale statua in bronzo raffigurante Nerone che si trovava nelle vicinanze, si innalza nel cuore archeologico della città, e da quasi duemila anni racconta una storia ininterrotta di fascino e magnificenza.
Il Colosseo, che ancora oggi è l’anfiteatro più grande al mondo, fu voluto dall’imperatore Tito Flavio Vespasiano
È il più importante anfiteatro romano, nonché il più imponente monumento dell'antica Roma che sia giunto fino a noi. Amphitheatrum Flavium. Il Colosseo lungo 189 metri, largo 156 metri, per un'altezza di oltre 48 metri, si estende su una superficie di 24.000 mq e poteva ospitare circa 50mila.
Arguably the most famous monument in the world and a symbol of Rome's grandeur, the Flavian Amphitheater, better known as the Colosseum for the colossal bronze statue of Nero that once stood nearby, stands in the archaeological heart of the city and has told an uninterrupted story of fascination and magnificence for nearly two thousand years.
The Colosseum, which remains the largest amphitheater in the world today, was commissioned by Emperor Titus Flavius Vespasian.
It is the most important Roman amphitheater, as well as the most impressive monument of ancient Rome that has survived to this day. Amphitheatrum Flavium. Measuring 189 meters long, 156 meters wide, and over 48 meters high, the Colosseum covers an area of 24,000 square meters and could accommodate approximately 50,000 spectators.
