In two separate speeches at the Senate House in Rome, Augustus Caesar addressed the aristocratic men of Rome. With concerns for the future wellbeing of the empire, he praised those that were married and condemned those that were not.
In truth, it is uncertain if these speeches actually exist in the form you are listening to. They were compiled by the Roman historian Lucius Cassius Dio at least 220 years after they were delivered and it is possible Cassius Dio was looking to make a much larger series of orations more digestible.
