PLATIO solar footpath - Groningen, Netherlands

#PLATIO #solarpavement was chosen to be part of the newest and biggest #netzero project of European Union: Making City. This program is aiming at creating #PositiveEnergyDistricts (PED). Groningen (NL) showcases the best #innovative energy including PLATIO #Solarfootpath. ☀️
We used 2544 PLATIO solar pavers to create a solar foothpath next to the city channel. This energy-generating walkway powers the city hall and it produces 55.000 kWh in a year.
With this energy, PLATIO can cover the yearly energy need of 18 average Dutch households. 🏘️
Solar foothpath will be the future of cities to tackle the climate goals and to create the energy community! 🌱⚡️
