Pakistan - Banazir Bhutto sacked

Crowds of Pakistanis turned out on the streets of Islamabad on Tuesday (5/11) to celebrate the dismissal of Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Bhutto was sacked by the country's president, Farooq Ahmed Leghari, who accused her government of corruption, nepotism and responsibility for unlawful killings that have left thousands of people dead. Benazir Bhutto's opponents fired guns into the air and handed out sweets, joining others who cheered and jeered.
