Kinetico Water Softener Problems
Kinetico water softener problems can happen when sections of the Kinetico water softener control head breaks down. Parts inside the head such as the control valve which has two very important seals. The quad ring seal, and the taper seal, these are prone to wearing out.
This also applies to the drain valve seals. The Kinetico drain valves have similar problems where they can wear on four edges. Another problem can happen when the Kinetico main piston seals wear on four edges, these are hidden seals which often get overlooked. The balance piston seal can cause problems too.
The very small advance seal located on the Kinetico actuator is particularly prone to wearing out. Generally, all the parts of the Kinetico need to work together to form a whole. The Kinetico pawl set, Kinetico control disk and Kinetico water meter disk must also be in perfect condition.
Brine tank resin can last up to 30 years but needs to be good. Kinetico resin is installed in both the main tank and the remote tank. For best performance it is recommended to fit Kinetico resin. Resin is not generally a problem on the Kinetico, as 99% of all faults are linked with worn, non- functioning seals.
