How to do Nakrasana | Crocodile Pose in Ashtanga Yoga

When it comes to practicing Nakrasana, all the ways that make it easier are–in true Ashtanga fashion–not options. That said, when you know how to move through it with proper alignment and form, it can feel less daunting and more accessible.
In this tutorial, we’re showing you how to do NAKRASANA \ CROCODILE POSE as practiced in Ashtanga's Intermediate Series. You’ll learn the traditional vinyasa cues and Sanskrit count as we show you how to maintain the Chaturanga Dandasana form as you move through this vinyasa. You’ll gain an understanding of where the movement comes from in the body and what allows the body to move as a single connected unit. The goal of this pose is to hold stillness throughout the movement and many of the ways that make it “easier” compromise form. Because of this, you’ll get plenty of examples in this video of what NOT to do too!
