Jerry arrived in San Francisco from Texas a few years ago with $100 in his pocket, without knowing anyone in San Francisco, and has been in San Francisco ever since. His wife Dena has been banned from the hotel due to an argument with a former employee and is currently living in a homeless shelter, so they are not living together right now.
