New project!
Using a Raspberry Pi 3 with my custom industrial 24V interface board (the Rhubarb OpenPAC) to do quality control on a rebar production line.
The board was designed using KiCad and manufactured at OSHPark. Reflow and component mounting is done in my shop.
The board powers the RPi via a protected 24V power stage utilizing a TI industrial-grade buck converter.
The 12 inputs are 10-24VDC, optically isolated and filtered.
There are 2 relay outputs (up to 2A/ 120V) and 2 MOSFET outputs (up to 50mA).
Also included on the board is a real time clock.
All components are chosen based on high-temp industrial usage.
The software stack uses a custom program written in C that monitors the GPIO and logs events to a SQL database. The front end is Iceweasel in Openbox displaying a PHP/JS web page as the HMI (Human Machine Interface).
