In this video, we give a very brief introduction to analytic number theory and state the prime number theorem, one of the most beautiful theorems in all of mathematics. We also mention the Riemann hypothesis, the Riemann zeta function, and a few other results of interest. This is the first part in a series that tries to answer some of the deepest questions about the distribution of prime numbers, and we'll explore many different kinds of arithmetic functions along the way.
