March Mushroom Foraging and Identification- 17 mushrooms identified in real time

There are spring mushrooms sprouting up in a beautiful forest near you, time to go for a walk in the woods with mycology educator Aaron Hilliard of mushroom Wonderland to discover what kind of mushrooms are growing out there in March.
Aaron is a college level mycology educator, former vice president of the local mycological Society, and an avid mushroom forager and researcher. If you’d like to dive a little deeper you can sign up for the 3 part intro to mycology course at the Olympic College in Bremerton. This is a non-credit class for personal enrichment. Aaron instructs the class in person, which covers what fungi is, how it grows, and its relationship to the world around it. The second class covers introduction to wild mushrooms and mushroom identification, and the third class goes over fungi cultivation and the history of mycological sciences and taxonomy. There is usually a foray into the woods for students who have attended the 3 classes. The classes are only offered in person right now, but they may be made into an online version soon.
