Trying Oil Cleansing With Vaseline 😓

I tried Vaseline as oil cleanser 🙋🏻‍♀️

I heard that many people use Vaseline as their first/oil cleanser so I decided to give it a try by myself. It melts smoothly and feels oily as I massaged. It actually melted sunscreen and makeup. But the thing with Vaseline is that it does not emulsify (turns milky) when comes in contact with water so rinsing it off is tricky. Instead directly washing it off, I first wiped it off with makeup removing pad and then went in with a second cleanser.

See, if you use extremely mild or non foaming second cleanser then it’s gonna be difficult to wash Vaseline off your skin. You need a solid foam based cleanser and I used a cleanser from Klairs. I still felt light moisture film on my skin which I did not find. My skin was clean and soft.

I would say that it works. It also does not sting my eyes but if you have whitehead or breakout prone skin then it may not work for you. Also if you don’t like thick formulas for your facial care then it’s not for you.
