A 6 minute video on the gear and canopy widgets on the HDX panel. Refer to the Dynon manuals and update the software since there can be new sensor definitions and possibly the method to add widgets can change in future software. I used a simple resistor voltage divider network to limit the voltage going to the EMS220's gear contact. The canopy contact senses a grounded input for "closed" status. The Canopy circuit includes a magnetic switch to detect the canopy is closed and the canopy latch completes the circuit so the panel will display the canopy is latched/closed. A simple text file with an RPM that you'd like for the audible canopy alert to become active can be made with notepad, loaded onto the memory card and loaded into the HDX. I set mine for 1900 RPM so I can taxi with the canopy open and alert not going off.
