Using XCskies.com to forecast thermal sites for potential paragliding flights.
This mostly applies to Northern California sites. Outside of this you'll have to consider over development potential and other potential complications.
Things I look for around here:
1. Low base wind
2. Positive lift above ground
3. Thermal updraft over 1m/s
I may still go to a site even if the lift above ground isn't great or the updraft isn't great because then it could just be a sledder. But if the wind is gnarly/over the back/has multiple switching layers then I probably won't go.
