Walking the Hadrian's Wall Trail - August 2023

An eight day hike across the North of England following the ancient Roman wall of Emperor Hadrian. The hike started on August 5th in Bowness-on-Solway with the team walking eastward to Newcastle (Wallsend).

Much of the wall has been removed over the centuries. The best scenes of the wall are Day 3 (8:10), Day 4 (12:00), and Day 5 (17:25).

As a note, we crossed the Sycamore Gap on 8-9 August (Days 4 & 5), two months before vandals senselessly cut down this beautiful tree. The thought of it still deeply saddens me and, for that reason, it has been highlighted briefly in stills at the end of the Day 4 section - a sentinel on the horizon.
