My DRZ400S sported a 36.75" seat height when I bought it. Why does a guy with a 30" inseam buy such a tall bike? Because the DZR is so durable and reliable the basic design hasn't changed for 20+ years. DRZs are also a great value in the used bike market, and I didn't want to spend a lot of money just to get my dirt on once in a while. But, it is one tall giraffe of a bike for a shorty like me. The first thing I tried to get my feet on the ground was a Seat Concepts Low Comfort seat. My toes could touch, but it still felt too tall negotiating rock gardens and other sketchy terrain. The next thing was lowering the rear suspension a bit. The best approach to lowering suspension is altering shock internals, but that requires expertise usually reserved for a suspension shop. That made lowering links my next logical choice; yes, I'm that cheap. This video covers the installation of the lowering links. Part 2 will address how well they worked out.
