March 2nd 34th Birthday Special Part 2

In 1976, Milton Bradley released the first home adaption of The Price is Right to feature the Showcase Showdown Big Wheel. The layout was very similar to the show's only reversed and with four values swapping positions. One major error is that the 7 in the 75-cent space has mysteriously disappeared.

In 2009, Irwin Toys released a really nice tabletop electronic adaption of The Price is Right. It had a number of pricing games to play, the best way to play Plinko at the time (meaning before Buffalo Games' 2020 Plinko game), and the Showcase Showdown Big Wheel on the side. Despite having the correct layout this time and updated rules for Bonus Spins, the Wheel does not spin well.

Enter the 3D-printed age of Etsy, also known as THE FUTURE OF BOARD GAMES! WOOOOOOO!! Okay, sorry, got a little carried away there, but anyway, what does Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right have in common? They're both known for having a Big Wheel, perhaps the two most popular Wheels in show business. After starting with Wheel of Fortune, this lady at Etsy expanded to other game shows, particularly The Price is Right and Press Your Luck, even going as far as to ask me to make some PYL-inspired layouts. Not only did I oblige, but you saw those in the first part. I also put up some new layouts for her to use today. You can see those in the links below.

Anyway, this lady at Etsy has a ton of pricing games at her shop, starting with the Big Wheel. She actually has a number of different versions, but what I'm showing is the ultimate version - the Super Duper Deluxe Edition. In it, I go into the pros and cons of these spinners. While they are a huge improvement and offer a near-authentic experience, they can be expensive, but if you can afford these like I can, they're really worth having. Someone involved with the actual show endorses this and even bought one for his special someone. Watch the video to find out who.
