Here is part 2 of my gut snare video series. In this video I show you a heavily modified 6.5” x 14” 1920's Super Ludwig snare drum. The strainer of this snare has been changed to a WFL P83 style throw off that can handle the installation of 12 strands of real gut snares. This is the drum I have been using to record all off the N.A.R.D. Snare drum solos I have been posting recently.
I play the drum and then compare it to a modern 5.5”x 14”Pearl Philharmonic 20 ply wood drum which is in my opinion a great sounding modern drum. Both drums are outfitted with the same Remo Diplomat Renaissance heads.
