How to get the best out of your footage in Adobe Premiere Pro CC using the built in Lumetri panel and filmconvert. In this tutorial I look at both the differences and similarities of the Lumetri Color Panel and the plugin Filmconvert in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015.3. I have been using Filmconvert for a long time and made a tutorial on how to use it a while back, which you can watch here: • Film Convert Pro Tutorial Premiere Pro
I really like the plugin and it's ability to create a filmic look using real film stocks, add grain and control the film "curve". However, color correction has come along way in Premiere Pro, I remember using a combination of RGB curves and the good old 3-way color corrector for many years until the Lumetri Panel came along. I now use the Lumetri color panel for the majority of my color work and will only jump into Speedgrade or Davinci Resolve if a project needs in-depth or advanced color work. Over the time I have adapted my color workflow to use Filmconvert and the Lumetri color panel so they augment one another rather than using one or the other. In this tutorial I look at both filmconvert and the Lumetri Color panel separately and then how you can use them together to achieve great results. Enjoy!
