The White Kayak - Expedition Teaser - Following the British Arctic Air Route Expedition

In the 1930s, Gino Watkins and his team undertook a series of expeditions in East Greenland, to survey the weather and possible landing sites for establishing an air route from Europe to North America.

The risks were multifold. From kayaking in ice choked waters, to snow storms and polar bears, they were on their own. But with help from the local Inuit people they learned how to kayak, how to hunt seals on the water, how to survive in those conditions.

Until one day, Gino unfortunately paid the ultimate price, whilst being out on the water…

Dave King, Musher and Expedition Leader, is planning to re-visit the unique landscape of East Greenland in a series of Expeditions, traveling by sea kayak and sled dogs. To step into Ginos footsteps and tell the stories of these incredibly inspiring men.

This film is to introduce not only Dave, but also Gino and give a first glimpse of their unique approach to their expeditions and to show what to expect from the upcoming Expeditions.
