Lock the iPad into Proloquo2Go by quickly TRIPLE CLICKING THE HARD HOME BUTTON.
Make sure the edit mode is turned off and the options wheel is toggled off in iPad settings before turning on guided access. This way, the student cannot make changes to the app, but can safely have the iPad in their hands to explore the vocab and to practice babbling with it.
Think of the iPad as the student's voice; they must have access to it whenever possible. Guided access allows you to feel better about leaving the student with the iPad.
