Having escaped the clutches of the infamous Kit Crewbucket we finally emerge from Harecastle Tunnel, still travelling northwards from Kidsgrove and the junction with the Macclesfield Canal to Middlewich. This section has a total of 31 Locks spread over 13 miles, hence its reputation and it's more popular name of "Hearbreak Hill" Fortunately we were joined for the weekend by a third crew member who helped us through.
