“A Farewell to Kings” marked a development in Rush’s sound, with greater use of synthesizers and each member playing additional instruments. Neil Peart said it was the result of the decision to release “All the World's a Stage” , which caused an extended creative hiatus that gave the band time "to think about ourselves as musicians."
Man, did it ever, as clearly evidenced by the track “Xanadu” . Many consider it to be the band’s greatest song, and I for one wholeheartedly agree. Without a doubt, it contains one of Alex Lifeson’s most awesome guitar solos.

Recently viewing Rick Beato’s review of “Xanadu” (titled “Why This is Rush’s Greatest Song”, which I highly recommend) was the inspiration for creating this video. Thanks, Rick!

Technical notes:
The audio here is far from perfect isolation, but I think still interesting and listenable.
1) Instrument isolation performed via an AI process.
2) Since there were a few pretty bad remnants, it was cleaned up just a bit using a DAW.
3) All interlude track gaps were left untouched, rather than deleted.
4) Tracks were rendered using 48kHz sampling and 16-bit PCM encoding.
