Found! My Lost Super Rare Pink Floyd Box Set

A few years ago I sold the Pink Floyd box set I’d had since I was a teenager. They were all original Australian pressings, a few of them quadrophonic. The box is pretty rare. I regretted selling it it almost immediately, but I desperately needed the money.

It was around 2017-18 when PledgeMusic started to have problems and payouts from them were slowing down. I urgently needed to pay an overdue bill for the vinyl pressing of my album ‘Space’, amongst every other bill. Selling the records and everything else in my house that wasn't tied down, as well as the help of an amazingly generous fan got me through it.

Selling my old Pink Floyd records was necessary but left a huge hole in my heart. I’d sneak looks at eBay and Discogs from time to time to see if any were for sale. There’s usually one or two, always super expensive - over $1000 for one in good condition.

Then in early 2020 ago I came across one while on one of my searches. For some reason it it didn’t seem as expensive as usual. The listing said the condition was very good and the seller kindly sent me more photos. I thought about it for awhile. What’s the catch? To hell with it - I hit the buy button. You snooze, you lose!

A week later it arrived. Superbly packed. I open it up and behold! Even better condition than the description or the photos, ten times better than my old one. And the records themselves seem unplayed. Pretty good for a 40+ year old box set.

I’m NEVER* going to sell it again.

(Side note: I have a history of selling good stuff to fund my music. My second greatest regret was giving my beloved Rickenbaker 12 string guitar to the guy who was mixing an album of my old band because I couldn’t afford to pay him any more. The album was released, sunk without a trace and we broke up a few weeks later LOL)
