What if we don't want to add up each and every charge to calculate the electric field of a bunch of charges?! Enter: integrals! We can use an integral instead of a sum to add up the many tiny charges spread out over a wire, a surface, or a volume.
The first half of this video explains the integral version of the electric field for different shapes. The second half covers a specific example for calculating the electric field of a straight line to show you how to use geometry (and symmetry!!) to find the electric field.
