Using an old, dry bracket fungus as an ember catch & coal extender for friction fire. I must not of hit record when I transferred the ember into the tinder bundle & blew it into flame. I will probably just do another video sometime, but this at least shows the idea. I just cut the ember out with my knife to transfer it into the tinder bundle.
This wasn’t an ideal fungus, as it was very thin, porous, & somewhat layered. I have much better results with thicker & woodier fungi, which allow for better coalescence & a stronger ember.
