(EN) Jumpstyle is an EDM dance style and hard dance music genre popular in Northwestern Europe, United Kingdom, as well as certain parts of Australia and the United States. The word originates from a movement of hard dance music followers, and especially those devoted to its post-2007.Jumpstyle, originally known simply as jump, was created in Belgium and started in 1997. It was a short-lived small genre that didn't gain popularity in its original form. However, it came back to the public during the turn of the century and fandom began increasing throughout Europe after undergoing significant changes in Germany in early 2003.
(DE) Jumpstyle (engl. jump „springen“ und style „Stil“) ist ein elektronischer Musikstil sowie ein dazugehörender Tanzstil.Jumpstyle bezeichnet einen Stil der elektronischen Tanzmusik, der in Arrangement und Melodie relativ minimal gehalten ist – ähnlich dem Newstyle, der sich in Chicago entwickelte. Charakteristisch für viele Jumpstyle-Tracks sind 140–160 BPM und des Öfteren Offbeats (vgl. Hardstyle). Viele Tracks enthalten auch Hardcore-Techno-Beats, die aber nicht zwingend notwendig sind, um sie als „Jumpstyle“ zu klassifizieren.
Der heutige Jumpstyle bezeichnet eine eigene Szene und ist vor allem in den Niederlanden, Österreich, Belgien, Frankreich, Italien, Polen und in Deutschland erfolgreich.
