Locos CF4433 along with SCT011 are making their way through Toodyay as they head for the Eastern States with 7PG1 SCT freighter from Forrestfield intermodal terminal running nearly a day late seen passing on a Sunday afternoon thru' Toodyay station 225pm.
Quite a few intermodal logistic service were running late this particular week.
The train is bound for the eastern states.
Currently Pacific national have the Kewdale terminal leaving Aurizon and SCT with the forrestfield terminal for loads and unloads.
In the near future, SCT is going to take over Aurizons Forrestfield yard while Aurizon moves into a New yard in Kewdale leaving SCT the only intermodal company to use forrestfield as a terminal when this move commences.
SCT interstate trains usually consist of locomotives, fuel pod, followed by the crew barracks car so crew can get rest over the cross country journey from Perth to the Eastern states.
CF class locomotives are working on SCT intermodals lately along with CSR, and SCT class locomotives that also haul SCT freight.
However unlike the SCT & CSR locos, the CF follows the C44aci loco model being manufactured for many companies.
At Toodyay station, Eastbound freights can be heard for at least 20 minutes before they reach you. This is due to the non populated hills that lead the railway towards Toodyay, the line also curves around mountains and passes through bushes as it travels through the Avon Valley and onwards.
CF class locos also wear the Railfirst livery across WA and the Eastern states.
Speed restrictions take place at Toodyay station, to prevent any major issue between the pedestrian crossing and the freight trains.
