Well, i've finally squeezed in a day for railfanning. Just check my channel description and it will say why i wasn't railfanning. Finally was in the mood to be able to record video of trains again. I got some good stuff. Via Rail train number 90 with Via 909 (with badly chipped paint on the nose) and 7 LRC cars. Of coarse the train was mostly empty. Although, for CN 422. I heard it at the Seaway bridge at the Welland Canal and the conductor reporting a clear signal to Glenridge. Pretty nice power, a CN SD70M-2 (high light between number boards) and a CN GP38-2W. The GP38-2W is a rare locomotive to find. Even the GP40-2W's are more common than them and they are rare. So catching a GP38-2W was certainly a treat. Apparently 4791 had been working between Port Robinson and Fort Erie on the CN Stamford Sub for the past couple months. Guess its going back to Toronto for repairs. With as low as 2000 horsepower its still enough to get the job done as a single SD70M-2 could not pull 114 cars at 45mph on its own. Hopefully i can get some more railfanning done this week.

BTW, for those wondering. GO Transit will be providing weekend train service to Niagara Falls starting May 21st. There is also a new evening round trip train on Friday night. For weekend service, now there are only 3 trains each way instead of 4 due to not enough ridership, not surprisingly. All GO trains i believe are only gonna have 8 cars this year instead of 10. Makes a lot of sense considering the ridership last year. Although, i am not happy with GO service in Niagara. Considering Via Rail is already here and they are being badly affected.
