Rainy days ended up shaping our holidays this year, so we stayed inside more than we went out (which was not the plan…), but it made us slow down and spend more time with friends , cooking at home and making spontaneous decisions along the way.
This video is a mix our cozy holiday days at home, a bit of baking, a New Year’s party with friends, gift exchanges, and real moments just as they were. I hope this little holiday mix feels warm to watch.
Wishing you a beautiful year ahead 🤍

🧁 Little Strawberry Pastries
1. The Silky Pastry Cream Recipe
455g Whole milk
1 Vanilla bean (split & scraped) or 1 tsp vanilla paste
115g Granulated sugar
30g Cornstarch
Pinch of salt
4 Large egg yolks (cold)
30g Unsalted butter
2. The Assembly
1 pack Puff pastry sheets
200g Heavy whipping cream (beaten to stiff peaks with a bit of sugar)
Fresh strawberries
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
How to make them:
1. Make the pastry cream: Heat the milk and vanilla until simmering. Whisk the sugar, cornstarch, salt, and yolks together, then slowly whisk in the warm milk.
Thicken & Chill: Pour it back into the pan and whisk over medium heat until it’s a thick custard. Stir in the butter, cover with plastic wrap (touching the surface!), and chill in the fridge.
2. Bake: Cut the puff pastry into squares and bake at 180°C for 15–20 minutes until golden and crisp. Let them cool completely.
3. Whisk the cold pastry cream to smooth it out, then gently fold in your sweetened whipped cream to make it light and fluffy.
4. Assemble: Split the pastries in half, pipe in the cream, and add 1 teaspoon of strawberry jam. Finish with a big dust of powdered sugar and a strawberry on top.
Note; I realized I was a little short on sugar for the pastry cream, so I improvised by sweetening the whipped cream instead before folding them together. It actually balanced out perfectly
