Jèrriais is a Romance language spoken in Jersey, a Channel Island off the Northern coast of France, where it serves as an official language alongside English and French. Up until the 19th century, the majority of islanders communicated in the language. However, around the 20th century the language fell into decline and today there are around 1,000 to 2,000 speakers. Efforts are currently underway to revitalize Jèrriais.
