While I talk a lot about timing and counting, what I'm really talking about are the subdivisions of the beats...
If you can keep track of the 1/8th notes, triplets, and 1/16th notes with your inner clock, you'll be able to play faster and better across all styles of music.
And if you think that simply doing it is going to make you faster, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed in the results. There is a time and place where you have to consciously try to subdivide faster and push the speed...
Or it will take a long time to come :(
