1. Early Exchanges – Jab Battles
Gamboa steps to his lead foot and folds out his jab. Crawford catches the first one, and when Gamboa doubles up, Crawford looks to catch and counter. Gamboa feints the jab and fires a lead hook, but Crawford mirrors the idea without the feint. Both look to assert lead-hand control.
2. Layered Feints & Position Shifts
Gamboa shows high then goes to the body with his lead. He follows with a high feint into a rear cross, just to step into position for a leaping jab, finishing with another rear cross. Crawford pulls, shifts his rear foot back into orthodox, and searches for the rear uppercut as Gamboa digs to the body. Crawford then bobs low over his lead foot before a tie-up and break.
3. Mid-Round Tactical Clash
• Gamboa flashes the lead and launches a rear overhand; Crawford tries to time him.
• Off the rear foot, Gamboa feints his hook while Crawford fires the check hook.
• Crawford jabs as Gamboa parries and pulls, more hand control between them.
• Crawford leaping jab → Gamboa parries. Crawford steps up with another jab, Gamboa rear-catches, then drops under. Crawford follows with jab–cross, but Gamboa parries inside.
4. Counter Layers & Step-Ups
Gamboa digs the rear cross to the body; Crawford catches on his lead foot. Crawford rear-foot step-up jab → Gamboa pulls and looks for a hook → Crawford check hooks the counter. Crawford goes over the top with his jab, Gamboa tries to answer with a rear cross. Crawford pulls square, resets, then returns to his lead foot snapping jabs. More jab trades, parries, and pull-counters.
5. Exchanges in High Guard
Gamboa rear hook—Crawford blocks high over his lead foot. Crawford folds out jabs, then a rear straight. Gamboa bursts from high guard with a lead hook, Crawford answers with a check hook. Gamboa pulls, throws jab–cross, Crawford drops. With his weight back, Crawford steps his lead foot out as Gamboa doubles the rear hand.
6. Combinations & Counters
• Gamboa jabs, looks for another, but Crawford pushes off his rear foot for lead hook → rear uppercut.
• Gamboa flashes the jab, throws a rear cross to the body. Tie-up, then Gamboa seeks a hook off the break.
• Gamboa jab–cross, Crawford catches both on the lead foot. Gamboa rear hook to body, Crawford rolls to lead side.
7. Pivotal Sequence – Knockdown
Gamboa throws a rear overhand. Crawford shifts weight fully to his lead foot, catching it, then immediately:
• Rear straight counter as Gamboa throws his overhand.
• Bobs low over lead foot → lead hook to the body → catches Gamboa’s counter hook.
• Gamboa rushes with cross–hook–uppercut, trading with Crawford (body vs. head).
• Crawford rear straight lands clean, followed by a pull and check hook–rear hook.
• Gamboa drops.
8. Closing Exchanges
• Crawford jabs, hooks to body, catching counters on the lead side.
• Crawford step-up lead hook → rear straight, Gamboa pulls and tries to cross, Crawford answers with lead hook and body work.
• Crawford slips, hooks body, Gamboa clinches head control.
• Gamboa rear overhand, Crawford catches, fires hook–uppercut–hook–hook. Gamboa rallies jab–cross–hook, but Crawford’s lead hook–rear hook drops him again.
