Document AI (DocAI) is a Google Cloud platform service that primarily used for automating manual workflows that require verification and processing of documents. DocAI uses machine learning to automatically extract, classify, and process information from documents such as invoices, receipts, forms and many others.. Business workflows can thus be streamlined by interpreting, classifying and understanding both structured and unstructured data with high accuracy.

The first step is to Get the access key to generate security credentials for the session. Then, a file is processed, we will be able to extract the text from the document.
Once a new file is stored in Google cloud, a Cloud Function is triggered to process the document using Document AI. This function contains all the rules and standards to process the document, in this example, we have built a simple function that compares the information from the file with records stored in a MySQL database to identify matches and mismatches.

Next, when we click on Show File List, this displays the files present in Google cloud. The output file contains the results, showing the matches and mismatches.

For additional information, you can view the details regarding the matched or mismatched data.

In this example, Google Document AI extracted purchase order details, compared them with the data stored in a SQL database, and identified the mismatches. Then we also extracted and processed the data and the results were logged and saved in Google Cloud Storage for later review.
