When the westside is drenched in non-stop showers it is time to head east in search of sunshine. This is Echo Coulee and the Channeled Scablands of the Columbia Basin Flood Basalt Province. Cool area that anybody can visit for a variety of recreations. I love the signature terrain of Eastern Washington and all it provides.
I got a lot of my information about the geology of the area from Dr. Nick Zentner's youtube channel: / geology . Nick is a geology professor at Central Washington University and stays up to date on current research and information about the geology of the Pacific Northwest. All around he is a great source and relayer of knowledge.
