Chicago has always been on the top of my list to railfan, and with some clear and sunny weather, the stars sure aligned! I went around to about eight different locations in and around the Downtown Chicago area, both on the North and South sides. Needless to say, Metra has the heaviest presence around here, with countless trains, especially during the peak hours. Managed to get a handful of the old Pacific Surfliner and Cascades EMD F59PHI's running on the Northern lines out of Union Station - a welcome sight! I haven't personally seen these engines since they departed from the West Coast more than 2 years ago. In addition, caught some of the Amtrak Midwest Corridor trains on the Southern end of Union Station. The Midwest Chargers don't look to bad in my opinion paint scheme wise, but then again they're still Chargers at the end of the day!
Chicago has too many places to visit and explore for railroading, and I hope to explore more in the future. All locations listed in the video.
