Glen Rose shows how to play the melody to Satin Doll using jazz chords. In this arrangement we are using mostly "B-shape jazz patterns" that come from Jazzy Ukulele Workbook One. I am playing my Riptide tenor ukulele and I have the song in the Key of "D" to utilize open chords as much as possible.
This Duke Ellington / Billy Strayhorn classic was written in 1953. Johnny Mercer added lyrics to the song after it came out.
I filmed the lesson on Con Dao island, Vietnam and Ko Phangan Island, Thailand.
