For Kiden Laki, a researcher, economist and gender specialist, one of the most valuable aspects of attending an RVI course was the opportunity to learn alongside diplomats, policymakers and others bringing a wide range of perspectives and professional experiences.

This exchange of ideas across sectors and backgrounds made the experience both thought-provoking and deeply engaging.

Since 2004, RVI’s annual field courses have brought together researchers, diplomats, aid workers and others for in-depth, evidence-based learning on the Great Lakes, Horn of Africa, Sudan and South Sudan. The courses are designed to foster critical insight and collaborative learning.
