Capacitors are DEAD. Long Live DIODES! ♠ [ How To QUAD ]

Capacitors are dead have you heard? The new Hype is TVS ZENNER DIODES! In this episode I will give you a layman's breakdown of the TVS diode and it's uses and WHY it is superior to the capacitors we have been using on our builds.

Basically, the Diodes provide a safe shunt for transient voltage spikes and ACTUALLY does the job your capacitor should be doing.

The benefits of this technique are a cleaner Gyro and Video as well as added protection to sensitive equipment such as VTX / FC / Camera.

I have not yet installed this on my quad, I just wanted to share the news and let you know that on my next build I will be using the technique and covering it in detail.

If you want to try this yourself, you do so at your own risk. Make sure to pay attention to the instructions on the video and to mount the Diodes in reverse polarity. Otherwise you will cause a fire.

You can buy any of the diodes found on that link, they all should work. Just select the form factor you are most comfortable working with. The SMD ones are fairly large and pretty much span the gap of a ESC quite nicely.
