WESTERN STANDARD TIME can rightfully be called the world's premier "ska supergroup!" The band brings together the best West Coast ska, reggae, and jazz musicians of the last 20 years -- to pay tribute to The Skatalites, the extremely influential Jamaican band that has been credited for inventing ska and paved the way for rocksteady and reggae.

Producers Eitan Avineri, Brian Dixon, and Brian Wallace have brought together an "All Star" cast featuring the best of the best ska musicians of the past two decades to record on this tribute to The Skatalites. Performers on the album ("A Big Band Tribute to The Skatalites") include current and former members of the most popular and highly respected West Coast ska and reggae bands of the last two decades: Jump With Joey, Hepcat, The Aggrolites, See Spot, Los Hooligans, The Debonaires, The Expanders, Kingston 10, and Yeska, to mention but a few.

These incredible musicians have taken their love of The Skatalites to a whole new level! This project brings us back to the Jamaican band's original sound and adds a huge and powerful twist. Herbie Miller, the Director and Curator of the Jamaica Music Museum (JMM) as well as the Jamaican radio DJ who debuted WST's album on the radio, is a staunch supporter of the group.
