[FreeFEM 11] Domain decomposition and high-performance finite element simulations

Domain decomposition is a powerful technique used in high-performance computing to solve large-scale problems. It involves dividing a complex computational domain into smaller, more manageable subdomains that can be solved independently. In the context of finite element simulations, domain decomposition is often used to speed up the solution of large-scale problems by distributing the workload across multiple processors or nodes. FreeFEM integration with PETSc (about which we talked in the 9th video of this series) and HPDDM (high-performance domain decomposition methods) library provides a powerful platform for high-performance finite element simulations that can efficiently solve large-scale problems on modern HPC architectures.
