You know, I may not like England that much, but it's situations like this that makes me feel a lot of sympathy for him. With the way UK's personality is, the falling apart of his dreams would have hit him hard, and the loss of these people, even harder. I think that he really does care, but doesn't know how to show it.
This song fits that theme pretty well. "You say you love me, but you never wanna see me again." That seems like a total Hong Kong line to me. He's so apathetic. "I wanted to tell you I changed; I wanted to tell you that things would be different this time." I think that sums up UK's feelings for his former territories. So, yeah. :D A bunch of other things, too.
