He participated in the musical-ethnographic expeditions. Collections amounted to: "One hundred Dagestani folk songs" (Makhachkala, 1948), "Kumyk yyry and Saryn" (Wiley, 1956), etc. The founder of the Dagestani professional musical creativity, Hasanov is one of the first representatives of the musical culture of Dagestan, a propagandist of Russian and classical music. Had a great influence on the formation of well-known as a professional composer S. Agababova Dagestan. Gottfried Alievich - author of the first works of Dagestan musical theater genres (opera, ballet, musical comedy). Gottfried's name Hasanov called Makhachkalinskoye School of Music.
