Prayer to Our Lady of Peñafrancia

In this time of great distress, we cling to the maternal protection of our Ina. We in Bicol Region in the midst of the rising of COVID19 cases continuously fly to her patronage under the title Our Lady of Peñafrancia.

I have composed the music in 2008 through a dream where the prayer surprisingly had a melody. But it is only until the first verse for I got up that I was so mesmerized by the beauty of it. Remembering that same dream in 2012, I decided to finish it as a song-prayer. I have recorded it last September, 2019. That night as I was on my way to the recording studio, Fr. Al Ray chatted that I was one of those chosen to ride at INA's pagoda for the fluvial procession. Days after the fiesta, Jared Estolloso, made this very beautiful music video.

May this prayer to her that I turned into a song, be our prayer and source of strength and inspiration especially in these difficult times.

I.
Turn to me thine eyes
Oh most loving Virgin of Peñafrancia
Have mercy on my soul
That comes to thee, full of repentance.

II.
Protect my family
All my friends and all my relatives
Intercede for all your devotees
Those dead and those living
And those whom I am obliged to help.

III.
Pray for me, console me, and save me
In my hours of peril, afflictions, and adversity
Above all, in the hour of my death
Appear before your Divine Son to help me and defend me.

IV.
Tell Him that I'm your devotee
That having complete trust in your powerful protection
I kneel before your miraculous image
To ask for your powerful intercession.
