Cleveland School of Science & Medicine (CSSM) is a nationally accredited biomedical science program and has been rated one of America’s best high schools by U.S. News & World Report. The school has received consistently high ratings on the Ohio State Report Card. Our students benefit from partnerships with the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, medical and science museums near our University Circle campus, and taking part in semester-long research projects alongside college students at Case Western Reserve University.
At CSSM, our students have the opportunity to participate in unique experiences through:
• after school programs, internships and research options, such as our Research Intensive
Summer Experience (RISE), coordinated through the Lerner Research Institute of the Cleveland Clinic.
• Health Professions Affinity Program (HPAC), coordinated through John Carroll University.
• Health Professions Pipeline Program (H3P), coordinated through the Robbins Bridge Program at Case Western Reserve University.
• a wealth of Advanced Placement (AP) courses recommended for students interested in Science and Medical felds, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Calculus and Statistics.
• acceptance into nationally acclaimed summer programs at institutions, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Kenyon College and NASA’s Glenn Research Center.
Starting with the graduating class of 2023, students at CSSM have the opportunity to pledge and
eventually medal in one of the following curriculum pathway programs:
• Scientific Research
• Public Health & Policy
• Professional Medicine
• Biomedical Engineering & Artificial Intelligence
