This is all my B-roll from UH Vs. UCI (1/10/26)

The Hawaiʻi Men’s Basketball team avenged its last four meetings against the UC Irvine Anteaters and got the last say, 67-66, thanks to Hunter Erickson's buzzer beating step back jumper!

Harry Rouhliadeff scored eight of the team's first 10 points early. He would finish with 14 points.

Isaac Johnson led UH with 15 himself, and Aaron Hunkin-Claytor also had 12 himself along with 6 assists!

Johnson was saddled with foul trouble in the first half, and Dre Bullock stepped off the court himself after a shot to the head.

Despite that, UH took as much as an 8-point lead, but they went cold for over five minutes while Irvine used a 9-0 run to take the lead.

By halftime, UH got their act together and took a small 29-27 lead over Irvine!

The second half saw a nip and tuck battle with neither team pulling more than a 4-point lead! Irvine was stingy with its hustle, but UH was twice as stingy with its defense!

Johnson gave UH the lead with a bucket in the paint with 1:11 remaining, but Irvine answered back with what was UCI's Derin Saran's 10th layup of the game. UH turned the ball over on the next possession, and it came down to the final 9 seconds!

Hunkin-Claytor had the ball and gave it to Erickson, who made the biggest shot of the game and said "Happy new year, Hawaiʻi!"

UH improved to 4-1 in Big West play and 12-3 overall in 2025-26! The Rainbow Warriors will hit the road for two games starting with the Cal Poly Mustangs at Mott Athletics Center in San Luis Obispo on Thursday, January 15 at 5 pm HST.
